The Butterfly Cabin

Envisioned as a family retreat. What started as a simple rectangular cabin (with butterfly roof) quickly evolved into much more. The front facade for the most part turns it back on the street. Two wood boxes with entrance between. As you enter the home the ceiling heights are low but suddenly transition into a large expansive “Great Room” – The Gallery dividing the Great Room from the Office/Garage is open to the views at each end. The massive concrete structure dividing the Living/Dining contains a see through fireplace that is flanked by see through wrought iron & glass cabinets and lower firewood storage. Downstairs is a large “bunk bed room” with bath & small storage. Opposite side with major view is Master Bedroom & Bath with outdoor shower option. Lower level opens on to large terrace with hot tub at far end.
